The cost of feeding the average family has skyrocketed in the past couple of years. Add that to the slow but steady increases for a decade or so before, and it’s gotten darned near impossible to set a healthy, nutritious meal that both kids and grown-ups can enjoy on the table. Fortunately there are ways to stretch your grocery dollar. Here are a few tips on budgeting furniture stores – how to dine in without breaking the bank.
First, do clip those coupons. Many supermarket chains will actually run sales to coincide with the release of certain coupons by their regular suppliers. For instance, if you get a fifty-cent off coupon for a brand of cheese in the newspaper and cut it out, there is a good chance that at least one of your local chain grocer’s will have special price on that cheese. If it’s been discounted twenty cents and you add the coupon, you now save seventy cent on the same product. Basic math skills can work for you, but coupons do have a catch.
The problem with coupons is we get so carried away with save a dollar here or sixty cents there, we buy things we don’t need because they’re a good deal. That’s bad for the budget. Only clip coupons for things you need and will use. It’s not saving if you save two dollars on frozen entrée that nobody will eat.
Watching the sales ads and shopping for specials from store to store only pays off if the stores are in close proximity or you’re going to the market daily. Since most of us shop weekly, we need to stock up when there are great sales and store the products in the freezer or pantry until we need them.
You, too, can learn the art of grocery budgeting and how to dine in without breaking the bank. You just need to be cost conscious and prepared before you head to the grocery store.
