Café Furniture Ideas Brings Outdoor Charm Indoors
Do you want to pull of the look of a street-side café in Paris, on a budget, even better, inside your own home? Go ahead. The charm and ambiance of a Parisian bistro can be imported from the outside to the inside with a few décor modifications and the result can be festive, light-hearted and fun. You’ll need to prepare the space, select the appropriate style and size of café furniture and add a few special touches to make it your own.
Start by choosing a room with lots of windows. If you don’t have windows, then be creative. Paint windows on the wall or hang large paintings of outdoor scenes that make it look as if you can see outside. If you’ve got Paris style landscapes, it will be all the better. Mirrors to reflect the view from a smaller window will work, too. Then, clean out everything nonessential. If you’ve already got tile floors, perfect! If not, try using a few throw rugs to simulate a tile pattern. You want to keep it informal and fun!
The café furniture should be the same sturdy stuff you’d use out of doors. Inside, however, you probably want to leave out the umbrella in the middle of the table. One idea is to insert a vase into the opening and put a spray of flowers into the hole. A wrought iron baker’s rack will work wonders as a server and maybe a flower cart for a sideboard?
So, find a space, open it up to the world or, at least create the illusion of that openness. Find some rugs and a few good pieces of café furniture, then you’re ready to add those personal touches, be they wine bottles in wicker baskets or garlands that look like summer roses draped across the chair rails. Don’t forget to add the music and then bring on the crusty French bread and good wine! You’re in the bistro business now, rain or shine!
