Fitting a computer desk into a small space can be more than a challenge. In some spaces, it becomes a nightmare. That’s where it pays to do some shopping around. More and more furniture manufacturers have realized that we don’t all have entire rooms to devote to using our PC. They’ve been so good as to design and develop the computer desk for small spaces that will work in your space.
While these small-scale computer desks come in a variety of styles, I would like to recommend two that seem to fit the bill. The corner desk is just what it sounds like. It fits into a corner of the room. The processor usually gets a slot in the back of the bottom and the peripherals (printers, etc.) go in an overhead cabinet. That leaves a monitor on the desktop and a pullout or the keyboard and mouse. Small, compact, organized and efficient describe the corner desk. This is a great sort of computer desk for small spaces.
Another option is the hutch or two-part computer desk. Smaller than a traditional hutch or desk, it has a vertical pull out for the processor and horizontal one for the keyboard and mouse. The detachable top of the hutch can be hold printers, etc. or can be left off if there isn’t room. The monitor has a stand and there is even a bit of space left over for a tray to hold CDs. While it is a little bulkier than the corner desk, it has advantages in that you don’t have to have an empty corner to put it in!
Whatever sort you choose please don’t let your cramped quarters dictate your use of a poor PC desk. There is a small computer desk out there for you. Why don’t you go on-line right now and find it?
