If there is one colour that is made just for kitchens, that is yellow! Perhaps, no other colour embodies the warmth, liveliness and the affection associated with kitchen, more than the colour yellow! The good thing about having a kitchen in hues of yellow is that you can never go overboard with the colour. It just seems to blend in with the whole ambiance of the place. Bringing that streak of vibrant, sunshine yellow in your kitchen is easy. You can paint the walls of the kitchen in lemon yellow, cadmium yellow or even pale yellow. Having yellow and white striped wallpaper in the kitchen is a really good idea too. The key is to experiment and give your kitchen that animated feel usually associated with the col0our yellow.
If you choose to go with the colour cream yellow, the walls and all the cabinets may be painted the same colour without teasing to the eye. A bit of light green in the form of flower pots, rugs, table mats will look equally good to go with cream yellow. If however, you choose to have your kitchen in the shades of cadmium yellow, you might consider complementing it with whites in your kitchen. For instance, the curtains you put in the windows might be white while the walls are painted yellowy, or the dining table you pick to set in the kitchen is white to tone down the glow of cadmium yellow.
Modern yellow kitchens have employed that stainless steel dining table and cabinets to give it a retro look. However, too much of grey and stainless steel look might not bring about that vibrancy of the colour yellow. To have a modern kitchen while bringing out the vitality of yellow, one should stay with hues such as lime green, light green, white and wooden brown to have a natural yet lively appearance of the kitchen.
