How to decorate a studio apartment, such that it has everything and yet does not look cluttered. This is a tricky question. The idea is to make use of the available space fro many functions. Buy multipurpose furniture  that comes in really handy in a one room apartment. Sofas cum bed, loft bed with workstation area as well as a storage area are good to go in a one room apartment. Use bed with underneath drawers to put away your shoes, and other personal stuff. Get a folding counter to press your clothes on and then fold it back into the cupboard/closet once you are done with it. Folding dining counters are a great space saving material too.

Keep cabinets and racks to put away your small things because your scattered stuff will only add to the clutter in the apartment. The racks can be installed up against the walls to save on the space occupied.

Keep the colour palette of the room in light  and neutral colours such as beige, offwhite, pale yellow to make the room appear larger and spacious. In a one room apartment, areas such as home office (if any), bedroom and seating area for guests need to be defined clearly.  You can do this by making use of paper screens or partitions. They not only divide the areas for different functions but also look pleasing to the eye. Use a bed that is lower and nearer to the ground. Using such bed in the room will make the room look larger.

Try not to cover the windows and let in the sunlight come in the room. Natural light always has an effect of making a room appear larger visually. Hence, keep the windows open at all times for a visually spacious room.
