Living in an apartment without a balcony is comparable to living inside a cardboard carton with a few holes for ventilation. Then again, people who own apartments with balconies would understand how difficult it is to maintain the balcony. Unlike the rest of the house, the balcony is directly exposed to the outside world. Also, the space right next to the door should be kept clear.

Every balcony requires furniture  that would allow the owner of the house to relax. In this respect, one needs to keep in mind that since the space in an apartment balcony is heavily limited, small and lightweight pieces of furniture  are recommended, so that there is no compromise on either space or comfort. Regarding illumination, one can use a medium-strong source of light with a decorative shade, so that the entire floor space of the balcony gets sufficient illumination, and yet the lights do not get too bright for the comfort of the adjoining houses.
