Looking some new decorating ideas to spruce up your bedroom. Maybe its time for a whole new look or perhaps you just need to change up the old one a little. After all, no matter how much you love that old brass bed and the chest of drawers your grandmother gave you, sometimes old gets old. It doesn’t matter if you’re buying the suite or just a few odd pieces of bedroom furniture; when you are ready to start shopping, make sure you have a plan.
Size matters in the bedroom, and no, that is not a sexual innuendo. If your bedroom is too small for a king-sized bed, don’t try it. Even if you mange to wedge it into the space, you won’t have any room left for other items such as an alarm clock or a coat hanger. In fact, you’re usually better off going with a queen bed, even in a larger bedroom. Unless you’re a basketball star, the bed will be more than adequate and the extra space will make the room seem even larger.
Do not spend all of your money on great bedroom furniture and then get stingy with the bedding. You want quality linens, comforters and shams to bring your look together. We all know that the bedroom is all about comfort. That means no skimping on the mattress either. It needs to high quality and suit your sleeping habits.
Do spend some time deciding on subtle changes that can enhance the room you already have before trashing it. What about painting that brass bed and refinishing the chest of drawers? Those savings alone would free up money for new pieces of bedroom furniture you don’t already own. Plus you’ll have the satisfaction of keeping your family tradition going in your own unique style.
When you’re ready for a new look in the bedroom, don’t pull out a lingerie catalog. Visit a nearby furniture showroom instead for the sort of new look that will last.
