In-home bars are becoming increasingly popular. The idea of a built-in bar in your family room or den, or if you’re so lucky, your billiard room has caught on and is spreading. Finding the bar that suits your tastes can be relatively easy. There are manufacturers that sell the entire thing already for you to either assemble and install it yourself or have contractor do it. Finding the accessories that make it complete will be up to you. When you are ready to shop for stools, think pine. Pine bar stools are lightweight, affordable and can come in lots of great looking styles to compliment your new party zone.
Pine’s grain, with its knots and gnarls is beautiful when finished to a gloss with a stain containing protective polyurethane to keep out moisture and make cleaning easy. Better yet, it’s a wood that works well under paint. Painted pine bar stools can be an easy way to match any bar’s color scheme, or you could paint them to match the room’s colors instead. It would be a great way to tie the bar décor and the room décor together in a nice, neat “pine” knot.
Since home bars don’t need heavy duty stools, like the public drinking establishments use, the lighter weight of the pine makes them easier for you to move around for cleaning or simply rearranging the seating. Bar stools come in several standard heights and most bar owners simply buy a set (usually four) all the same size. Here’s a bit of advice. Try varied sizes. That way taller and shorter visitors to your bar will be able to find a stool that works for them. Plus, if you buy them all in pine, arranging them to suit your guests will be a breeze and will make serving up fun at your in-house bar easy
