Aluminium café furniture is one of the most affordable decoration solutions, available in the furniture market. However, any furniture that comes at a very low price has a set of disadvantages. On the whole, there is nothing wrong with aluminium; quite often, it can look very stylish. Still, before you make your decision about whether aluminium café furniture (tables and chairs, most often) is worth the trouble, take some time to consider several pros and cons associated with this solution.
Pros
Affordable – as of today, aluminium is one of the cheapest materials in the furniture market. Plus, it is extremely easy to work with it, so the production cost remains quite low, too. If your budget is limited, this could be one of the best ways you can go with.
Light and compact – another important advantage is that aluminium café furniture is incredibly light and compact. It is easy to move it around, which is often a great perk.
Does not require any special maintenance – aluminium is easy to maintain. It is relatively resistant to moisture, sunshine and dust, which makes it a perfect material for outdoor furniture. Plus, even if it does break down, it will be easy to substitute it.
Cons
Hardly ever looks stylish – as a rule, aluminium café furniture looks quite cheap. Sure, it is possible to find several very impressive designer solutions that would look really great. However, they will most likely be quite expensive – even despite cheap production material. Furniture like this might be ok for unpretentious cafes, but it will never become a perfect fit for an elegant place.
Not very durable – aluminium is one of the softest metal types, so the durability leaves some room for the improvement. Sure, it can be easily replaced in case of damage, but if you are looking for durable solutions that will stay in your café for years, you might want to consider some other material type.
Few designs to choose from – as a rule, aluminium café furniture features more or less the same design. Sure, if you are looking for some basic chair and table functionality, you might be ok with it. On the other hand, if you are working on unique look, this is not the best choice for you.
On the whole, it is up to you whether to equip your place with aluminium café furniture. If you are running an unpretentious bistro or a coffee shop, this might be a solid choice for you. However, aluminium café furniture will never create a stylish, elegant atmosphere in your place – so if this is the kind of environment you are working on, aluminium is definitely out of the question.
Another important thing to know when you are looking for solutions that can combine high quality, stylish look, and reasonable price is that plenty of big retail chains can offer you stylish furniture solutions made of fine quality MDF. As a rule, they look more impressive than aluminium furniture, while at the same time, they feature a very reasonable price – so you might want to consider MDF in your calculations.
