Round furniture looks very stylish, but like most items it has its pluses and minuses. First of all, it is rather demanding in terms of interior arrangement, which is why if you want to have a round table in your room, you will have to carefully weigh over your entire furniture set. Next, round tables can offer a rather flexible number of seats, but they will not fit unobtrusively into the corner of your room. In other words, finding small round dining tables for small spaces may be a challenge. So, before you make up your mind, you should consider several pros and cons of equipping your apartment with small round tables:
Pros
Flexible number of seats – typically, small round tables can accommodate up to 4 people; yet this number is rather flexible. Unlike square and rectangular tables, round ones do not limit your seating capacity that much, which means that you have a chance to ‘squeeze’ more people on occasion. Of course, ‘squeezing’ is not the most appealing option, but sometimes you have to go with it – especially if your apartment is tiny.
Plenty of materials to choose from – small round dining tables for small spaces can be made of glass, plastic, wood, or lacquered, high gloss MDF. Such models offer the widest range of materials to choose from. Wood, for instance, will be great for traditional interiors; glass – for contemporary ones; high gloss and plastic can be bought for modern and mixed interiors. Still, they are more appropriate for contemporary rooms.
Can be put into a variety of rooms – a round table will look great in the living room, in the dining room, and in the kitchen. It will easily fit into any room of your choice, and the only thing you will have to consider are the accessories. In the kitchen, for example, it can be combined with stools or chairs; in the dining room – with chairs preferably; in the living room, it can be placed next to a sofa.
Cons
Cannot be put into a corner – note, though, that a round dining table cannot be crammed into a corner. It does not necessarily have to be placed in the very center of the room; still, you will not be able to optimize every cubic centimeter with a table model like this. Some of your room space will unfortunately remain unutilized.
Non-extendable – plus, small round dining tables for small spaces cannot be extended, which a minus. As mentioned above, you will literally have to ‘squeeze’ people in if you invite them over. Few custom made round tables may feature an extension option (extending to oval shape), but it can be rather expensive.
If the pros outweigh the cons for you, we would recommend looking for small dining tables for small spaces in furniture stores with established reputation and a vast network of suppliers. First of all, this will give you a chance to choose from a very impressive selection of furniture item; and, it will also help you to save some money, as most big stores manage to keep their pricing policy affordable.
