Size and Space: Know the Difference

Maximizing kitchen space is crucial not only for small but also for large kitchens. You cannot just waste space and clutter it with the things you do not need. So, you have to leave enough room to move around rather than clutter the kitchen with impractical furniture units. In a small room, this issue is even more acute. A tall kitchen table can be much more practical than it seems at the first glance. It can replace a large dining table and a bar table. Sure, you do not need to get rid of those entirely. Just move a dining table into the dining room. Free some space for a tall, sophisticated kitchen table!

Classic vs. Modern

Classic bar counters have a closed lower part. In real bars, it is used to store bottles and to separate a bartender’s working space. Bar counters, however, are too massive for a modern kitchen, especially if it is small. They can be a fancy element of the kitchen décor, but their practical application is usually poor. Instead, think of the tall table with an open lower part, which will not clutter the room. This elegant and lightweight table will look gorgeous with tall bar stools.

Stools

Bar stool styles can vary considerably: from the round-seated models, you can often see in nightclubs, to the most exotic novelty shapes. Wooden, plastic, leather ones – bar stools are chosen in accordance with personal preferences and the concept of the kitchen décor. If you want to combine different styles of furniture in the kitchen, there is no way better than to pick bar stools contrasting the rest of your kitchen furniture.

To save space, you should choose models that can at least partially fit under the table. Pay attention to lightweight, portable models, which are easy to move around. Get as many stools as you need, but not more. It does not mean that if you live alone, you need only one stool. Consider, how many people live in the house and how many come to visit. If you like to have big parties, use a tall table with bar chairs as the bar only. Remember that not all guests will sit at ‘the bar ’ at once, so fewer stools will be needed. The optimal number of seats is two to four. Given that bar stools are usually height-adjustable, it is better to buy them first, and then to select the table accordingly.

Every small item in your kitchen must boost your productivity. Tall kitchen tables with bar stools are some of the most intelligent ways to maximize space in your kitchen!
