Clocks govern our daily lives, or so it seems most days. We wake up to an alarm clock, constantly glance at our watches, divide our day into segments based upon times to be here or there. It’s no wonder that most houses have at least three of four clocks, if not more. Fortunately, they come in lots of styles. Wall clocks are great because, when you are standing they can be at eye level. Plus, this one variety of clock alone comes in a plethora of designs, one of which is sure to fit your sense of style.
If you are a traditionalist, you’ll like the faux antique wooden clocks with their swinging brass pendulums. These are replicas of the old key-wound wall clocks of earlier days. They even chime on the half, the quarter and, of course, on the hour. Most of the new ones run on batteries. A few can be run by electricity and even rarely, you can still find a key-wound one.
If your tastes are more eclectic, you’ll find plenty of cool novelty wall clocks. There’s the popular cat with the swinging tail whose eyes go back and forth as its pendulum tail sways. There are character clocks from popular books and movies, and plenty of other unique decorative styles that will let you put your stamp on the way you tell time.
Should you be one of those whose taste fall in the “in-between” range, don’t despair! There are plenty of styles that will fit with just about any décor and blend in harmoniously while they keep track of those seconds, minutes and hours. The biggest problem with these clocks is finding the one you like best. If it’s too hard, buy a couple. You can’t have too many of these eye level helpers on the job keeping you on schedule furniture
