It is seldom that you hear someone complain about their bath being too large or spacious living room furniture . Let’s face it. People with huge bathroom have them because they want them, and they probably can afford to have someone else clean them! Most of us are cramming our stuff and our selves in to smaller than desired baths and almost every one of us wants to find ways to save space in a bathroom that is not oversized. Here are a few to consider. Make a little extra room in your bathroom by chucking the excess. You might have to have towels and washcloths ready on the towel racks, but there is no reason the extras have to be in the bathroom. Keep them in the hall linen closet and free up that space under the sink for things that you require in the bath constantly, like extra rolls of toilet tissue!
Using a hanging cabinet or shelf on the bathroom wall to hold shampoos, soaps and other items will keep them from taking up counter space or being left along the edges of the tub. Don’t have enough wall space to hang a shelf? Then try one of the stand-up over-the-tank units that will be positioned in a space that is usually wasted anyway. Something as basic and simple as keeping the dirty clothes hamper in the bedroom instead of the bath can add room. Add more with the use of organizers to store countertop items and free up a bit of that counter for you to actually use. If you’re looking for ways to save space in a bathroom, start by eliminating excess and then get busy organizing what’s left. When you finally finish, you will be amazed at how much bathroom space you have open for your use, and to think… it was hiding there all along.
