This year’s Grand Designs Live exhibition is on between April 29th and May 7th at London’s ExCeL. On for nine days, you’ll get to see all the latest trends for the home for yourself, as well as all sorts of brand-new products that have never been seen before. It’s based on the Channel 4 TV show of the same name and you can expect to browse through 500 different exhibitors’ stands – so you can bet you’ll get all sorts of ideas to take away with you.
If you’re going to go to see what sort of home furnishings are likely to be big news in the months ahead, head to the Grand Interiors section of the event, where you’ll find inspiring ideas by the plenty for your new sofas, chairs, tables and lighting, as well as other accessories for the home.
The Grand Technology hall is also certainly worth a visit, as you’ll find all the very latest trends and developments in the tech sphere in one place. If you’re keen to bring more smart tech into your home this year, then you must pay this part of the show a visit so you can see what gadgets and devices would most benefit you and your lifestyle.
Interestingly, a lot of people often neglect the garden area of their house in favour of the interiors but if you want to create really beautiful home – and one that has instant curb appeal – you absolutely must focus on the exteriors as well. At this show, you’ll find a Grand Gardens section to help you work out how to make your garden a truly active part of your house. You don’t have to have a green thumb in order to create a beautiful garden – and this part of the show will really help you see this for yourself.
And of course, the likes of Kevin McCloud and Charlie Luxton will be on hand to have a quick chat and they’ll both be doing celebrity book signings so make sure you buy their books and get in line to have them signed. McCloud will be on hand between April 30th and May 7th at certain times, while Luxton will be signing books between May 1st and 4th.
Advance tickets cost £12, while children under 15 get in for free, so you could make it a fun family day out and get everyone involved in the redecorating process if you like!
